NeSA organises meet for sustainable homeland in US
Kathmandu, March 27
Nepalese Students’ Association (NeSA) in the US recently organised its 8th International Conference to discuss the devastation caused by last year’s earthquake in Nepal and ways to contribute to the homeland.
A press statement issued by NeSA in the capital, tonday said the international conference on ‘Role of Diaspora for Sustainable Homeland’ was held on March 12 at New Mexico State University of Las Cruces, US.
The statement read that the conference focused on last year’s catastrophic earthquake in Nepal as well as political instability in the country and how the Nepali people in the US could contribute to the homeland and make it sustainable from various sectors, including education, agriculture and biodiversity, among others.
The conference also provided a platform for scholars to present their academic research and share ideas.
Drona Prakash Rasali from Canada, Vancouver, was invited as the keynote speaker at the conference, along with several guest speakers from Nepal, China, and the US. Roshani Rajbanshi, academic director, said, “The conference was a huge success.”
