New strategy on agriculture in offing

Kathmandu, March 8:

The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MoAC) is working to prepare a draft of the National Agriculture Extension Strategy (NAES) 2006. The NAES is expected to be completed within the ongoing fiscal year.

A seven-member task force was formed under the convenership of Asheshwar Jha, the spokesperson of the MoAC, for the preparation of a preliminary draft of the NAES two months ago.

Other members of the task force are joint secretary at the Monitoring and Evaluation Division, representative from Planning Division, chief of Legal Section, head of Agriculture Extension

Directorate at the Department of Agriculture, head of Livestock Training and Extension Directorate under the Department of Livestock Services and the chief of a project Agriculture Perspective Plan Support Programme.
