KATHMANDU: A driving licence can now be acquired from the Transport Management Office in Jagati of Bhaktapur as well. The distribution of driving licence began from the Office today.

Inaugurating the service, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ramesh Lekhak said that the government was working out to update licence distribution system to change it into online.

He further directed the concerned bodies to develop the trial centres as well.

The expansion of the Transport Management Office is expected to facilitate the distribution of driving licences without much hassle, he added.

Similarly, Secretary at the Ministry, Dhan Bahadur Tamang, shared that the service recipients would easily acquire services from the Office as the Ministry was making the system further transparent and easier. He shared that such Office would soon be established in Chabahil of the Capital as well.

It may also be noted that the Department of Transport Management has recently launched an online licence application system. It has been distributing smart licences for the past one year.
