Demanding self-governance in the indigenous land of the Newars, restructuring of the state on ethnic lines and representation of the indigenous people in the policy-making bodies, the Loktantrik Newaa Sangharsha Samiti handed over its recommendations to the Interim Constitution Drafting Commission today. “Though all sides have been calling for ethnic autonomy, we have heard that the interim statute has no provision for the same,” the samiti said.
