NHRC team in Dhading to probe killings

Kathmandu, November 20:

The National Human Rights Commission today deployed a team to investigate the murder of Nirmal Pant and Pushkar Dangol in Dhading, who were allegedly killed and dumped there by the Young Communist League cadres.

Chief of the Protection Department of NHRC Yagya Adhikari said a team comprising protection officers Madhav Gautam and Bhim Oli was deployed to the spot where the bodies were found.

The National Human Rights Foundation (HURFON) has urged the government to form a high-level commission to investigate the case.

“The government should investigate the case impartially and provide compensation to the victims’ families,” states the press release issued by General Secretary of the HURFON.

The Human Rights of Nepal (HURON) has also asked the government to investigate the case through an independent committee and bring the criminals into book.

Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Pashupati SJB Rana also sought compensation for the victims’ kin.
