No alternative to consensus: President

MADHYAPUR THIMI:President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Tuesday said there was no alternative to consensus to sort out the existing problems in the country.

Inaugurating Korea-Nepal Friendship Hospital built under the grant assistance of the Republic of Korea in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality, he said, "Consensus is indispensable in leading the peace process to a logical conclusion and drafting the new constitution."

Urging all political parties to forge unity, Yadav also underscored the need for parties to respect the aspirations of the masses.

Park Dae-won, president of the Korean International Cooperation Agency's, said the Korean government would continue to support Nepal.

The hospital was built with a grant assistance of Rs 115 million from Korean government in 10 ropanis of land provided by Madhyapur Thimi Municipality. It was handed over to the municipality on December 19.

The hospital has 50 beds with medical, emergency, outpatient and dental departments as well as delivery and operating rooms. The hospital is equipped with laboratories, ambulance and x-ray machines.
