'No shortage of essentials'

Speakers have said that there was no shortage of any daily essentials due to the blockade by agitators.
At a programme organised by Media International here on Monday, Chairman of the Nepal Retailers’ Association, Pavitra Bajracharya, urged the government to carry out monitoring of the godowns of big entrepreneurs as well as wholesalers.
He expressed dissatisfaction at the problems of retailers given by the government as there would be no price hike due to middle-scale businessmen and retailers.
The programme was organised with an objective of informing the people regarding the situation of foodgrains. Chairman of the LP Gas Industry Association, Shiva Prasad Ghimire, said that only three gas bullets have entered Nepal since September 16. A gas bullet carries 3,700 gas cylinders.
Chairman of Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs (FNNTE), Kedar Poudel, President of Nepal Meter Taxi Entrepreneurs Association Arjun Gautam expressed the view that the government should arrange fuel for public vehicles.
