Non-resident envoys present credentials

KATHMANDU: Non-resident ambassadors from Jordan, Georgia and Vietnam to Nepal presented their letters of credence to President Ram Baran Yadav amidst a special function at the Office of President on Thursday. Hassan Mahmoud Al Jawarmeh Hashemite (Kingdom of Jordan), Levan Nizhararadze (Georgia) and Ton Sinh Thanh (Vietnam) presented their credentials to the President. Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahendra Bahadur Pandey and senior officials of the Office of the President and Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present on the occasion.

APF feted

KATHMANDU: Hamro Nagarik, a non-profit organisation, on Thursday honoured the Armed Police Force to recognise the paramilitary force’s special contribution in carrying out search and rescue operations in the aftermath of the April 25 earthquake and subsequent aftershocks. Prachanda Jung Shah, coordinator of the organisation, presented a Letter of Honour to APF chief Koshraj Onta, during an event organised in the APF Headquarters, Halchowk.

Thieves arrested

KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday arrested two persons from Balkhu on charge of stealing six machines from a grille industry they were working at. Anil Thakur and Nisan of Birgunj, Parsa were absconding after allegedly making off two drill machines, three welding machines and a grinder from New Katuwal Grille Industry, Kamalpokhari, according to police.
