Now it's Oli's turn to be PM, says Khanal
KATHMANDU: CPN-UML senior leader Jhalanath Khanal said that party Chairman KP Sharma Oli will be the next Prime Minister of the country.
He made the statement while speaking at an interaction organised at the Reporters' Club in the Capital on Thursday.
"I have already experienced the post of Prime Minister. Now, it’s the time of party Chairman Oli," Khanal said.
"I will not deny if the party leaders propose me to be the Prime Minister," he, however, added.
On a different note, former Prime Minister Khanal said that the new constitution would be delivered within mid-August according to the present calender.
After the promulgation of the new constitution, a new calender would be made public for the elections of new President, Prime Minister and Speaker, he stated.
Dubbing the first draft of the constitution a 'big achievement', the UML leader said that it would not have been successful had the political parties not budged from their stands.
Pointing out the need to move ahead by including disgruntled parties who have been protesting against the draft, he was of the opinion that the demands of the agitating parties should be addressed by amending the draft.
