KATHMANDU: At least three students affiliated to Nepal Students Union were injured in a clash between separate factions of the union while forming a new unit in Shankar Dev Campus on Wednesday.

The NSU members led by Jit Jung Basnet were trying to form a new unit at the campus alleging the incumbent unit led by Nain Singh Mahar of not working effectively.

Both Mahar and Basnet factions are close to NC president Sher Bahadur Deuba.

During the clash, Free Student Union president Shuvaram Basnet also received head injuries and is receiving treatment at Capital Hospital.
