NSU president disenchanted for 'no recognition'

KATHMANDU: Pradeep Poudel, president Nepal Student Union (NSU), today alleged that the Nepali Congress Mahasamiti meeting had failed to recognise their organisation. Speaking at a program organised to mark first anniversary of former vice-president Tanka Bikram Nembang, he said that they had, however, expected much from the Mahasamiti meeting. The Mahasamiti meeting even denied entry to me at the venue, he outraged.

He informed that more than 90 per cent senior leaders in the party were affiliated to NSU, earlier. He further questioned if the new generation could lead the party when they were not allowed to express themselves at such meetings. He alleged that the party was not generous and urged the party to recognise NSU while making the Mahasamiti reports public.

However, Sushil Koirala, officiating president NC said that the youths had great opportunity to enter into mainstream politics. He said, "The first generation leadership shall be replaced by new generation soon.” He reiterated that youth leadership was very much necessary to strengthen in the days to come.
