NSU protest in capital
Kathmandu, December 15:
Nepal Students’ Union said 10 students affiliated to the union were injured during a scuffle with police in Pokhara today while protesting an attack on Janapriya Campus.
Palpa NSU president Sunita Adhikary, Tribhuvan Multiple Campus Free Students’ Union President Moti Lal Bhandary and Campus Unit president Haribol Bhattarai were injured in today’s protest.
NSU has decided to hand over a memorandum to all the district administration offices tomorrow, protesting the attack and demanding scientific price adjustment of petroleum products. The union has also decided to stage a chakka jam in front of colleges from 9 to 10 am tomorrow.
Meanwhile, All Nepal National Free Students’ Union has expressed serious concern about the slashing of MBBS quota meant for Dalit students. Issuing a press statement today, the Union has demanded that the government provide 15 per cent of MBBS seats to underprivileged groups, which was cut by five per cent recently.
