Nurses flay ministry meddling
KATHMANDU: Nepal Nursing Council today expressed serious concern about the interference of the Ministry of Health and Population against the agreement signed between the nursing council and the ministry.
Daya Laxmi Joshi Baidhya, president of NNC, said registrar Man Kumari Rai had been forcefully retired from her post by the present government. She said that they
had urged the ministry to rethink the issue of her retirement, as it
had been against the agreement signed between the two parties on July 30.
Addressing a press conference in the capital, she said the health secretary had given her word not to retire Rai from her post and
appoint a new registrar. She added that the health minister had yet to address their
demands though it had been two weeks that he returned from an
official visit to Germany.
The agitating workers of the council had padlocked the NNC obstructing the work of the council of monitoring and evaluating nursing colleges since last month.
