The New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade today announced the recipients of the New Zealand Development Scholarships for Nepal.

A press statement issued on December 1 by the New Zealand High Commission based in New Delhi said a total of three students from Nepal have been awarded postgraduate scholarships by the New Zealand Aid Programme.

It said the awardees were chosen for their strong academic credentials, leadership quality, and their commitment to the development of their country.

According to the statement, Mohan KC (Master of Forestry Science at University of Canterbury), Sundar Tiwari (PhD Agriculture Development, Pest Control at Lincoln University) and Biplav Pradhan (Master of Disaster Management at University of Auckland) are recipients of the scholarships.

“We look forward to these students being successful in their studies and adding to the skilled and capable alumni of New Zealand universities contributing to Nepal’s development,” said Grahame Morton, New Zealand’s Ambassador to Nepal.
