KATHMANDU: House Speaker Onsari Gharti today administered oath of office and secrecy to Mohan Prasad Baral, who was elected as the chairman of Agriculture and Water Resource Committee (AWRC) under the Legislature-Parliament.

Baral was sworn in amid a ceremony at the Speaker's Office in Singhadarbar.

On the proposal put forward by CPN Maoist Centre whip Sita Nepali, and seconded by CPN -UML lawmaker Kashinath Adhikari, lawmaker Baral was unanimously elected the chairman of the House panel on Thursday.

Baral was elected to the Parliament from Sindhuli Constituency-2 from Nepali Congress. He was a member of the Finance Committee earlier.
