Oli leaves for Vietnam tomorrow

Kathmandu, May 7

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is paying an official visit to Vietnam and Cambodia from May 9 to 15.

Oli is visiting Vietnam from May 9 to 13, at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, while he will be travelling to Cambodia from May 13 to 15, at the invitation of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.

The prime minister will be accompanied by his spouse Radhika Shakya.

During the visit, Oli is scheduled to hold delegation-level bilateral talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Phuc. He will also meet the President of the National Assembly of Vietnam.

Vietnam PM Phuc will host an official dinner in honour of PM Oli and his delegation, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During his visit to Vietnam, Oli will address the International Day of Vesak in Ha Nam Province.

He will also address the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Nepal-Vietnam Business Forum in Hanoi. The two countries will sign agreements and memorandums of understanding to further promote bilateral relations.

During his visit to Cambodia, Oli will hold delegation-level bilateral talks with his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen.

Following official talks, Hun Sen will host an official dinner in honour of Oli and his delegation.

PM Oli will also meet the President of the National Assembly of Cambodia and the president of the senate. He will also address a business meeting in Phnom Penh, according to MoFA press release.

Members in the PM’s delegation include Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, chief adviser and foreign affairs adviser to the prime minister, members of Parliament, high-ranking government officials, elected representatives from local bodies, as well as representatives of private sector and media.

PM Oli and his delegation will return home on May 15.
