A person died while two others sustained injuries after a car crashed with a road divider in Madhyapurthimi Municipality-4 on Wednesday night.
According to police, the incident occurred when the speeding car (Ba 4 Cha 576), en route to Kathmandu from Bhaktapur hit the road divider at Chardobato yesterday, critically injuring two in the car. After hitting the barrier, the car collided with a taxi, injuring the taxi driver.
The deceased has been identified as car passenger Abhishek Shah, 22, of Dhanusha Sub-Metropolis-15, currently living in Shantinagar, informed Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) Raju Pandey at Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur.
All three were rushed to Madhyapur Hospital, where Shah succumbed while receiving treatment.
Car driver Sabin Ghising, 25, of Kamalamai Municipality-12, sustained critical injuries in the incident. He is being treated at Madhyapur Hospital. Taxi driver Bhimsen Khatri, 32, of Ramechhap returned home after receiving minimal treatment at the hospital.
