Kathmandu, May 5:

The Home Ministry today formed a five-member special committee to investigate the Dr Hemang Dixit shooting incident.

An unidentified assailant yesterday shot at Dr Dixit, the principal of Kathmandu Medical College (KMC), at Baneshwor.

The committee is headed by Deputy Inspector General of Police Dipendra Bista of the Crime Investigation Department (CID).

The Kathmandu Medical College has announced a series of protest programmes. It halted all academic programmes and other activities, except emergency services, today and plans to continue tomorrow.
