Kathmandu, June 2:

A 1,058-member main celebration committee under the chairmanship of ex-PMKriti Nidhi Bista was formed today to mark the 58th birthday of King Gyanendra as a week-long festival. A 39-member management committee was also formed. A meeting of the representatives from different sectors of the society has elected Thakur Prasad Mainali as the co-chairperson and Surendra Bir Malakar as the general-secretary of the main committee. Dr Ratna Kamal Baidhya, Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, Mohan Gopal Khetan, Indira Mall and Mukhya N Lama were elected vice-chairpersons.
