Solve problems through talks, urges PAPAD
Kathmandu, November 16
Professionals’ Alliance for Peace and Democracy today urged the government, political parties and all others concerned to resolve the current crisis through talks at the political level.
A press statement issued here today by PAPAD said that Tarai/Madhes agitation for the past three months and unofficial blockade imposed by India in Nepal for more than a month has created humanitarian crisis in the country.
It said that along with scarcity of daily commodities, there is crisis in health, education, information technology and development sector, which is affecting human rights and rule of law across the nation.
“Thus we urge the government, major political parties, agitating political parties and all concerned to solve all the existing problems by holding talks at the political level with nation, nationalism, sovereignty, integrity and national unity as the bases,” it said.
It further said that regarding the unofficial blockade imposed by India, the two independent countries should take diplomatic initiatives to end the current crisis and let all human services operate freely.
