PS employees adjusted without their consent
- 35 staffers from parliamentary service have been adjusted
Kathmandu, March 29
Five officials of Parliament Secretariat were adjusted under civil servant adjustment process without their consent. These officials had not filled out the adjustment form, but were given the adjustment letter.
The officials who received the adjustment letter from the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration are Binod Mali, Kesab Aryal, Gopal Chand Lakhe, Madan Pokharel and Dinesh Acharya.
Talking to THT, one of the officials said, “We had not filled out the adjustment form, but we have been given the adjustment letter. If the decision is not rectified we will file a complaint.”
According to the ministry, 35 employees from the parliamentary service have been adjusted under the civil servant adjustment process. Of them, 33 were adjusted in the provinces, while two were adjusted in the local levels.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration Suresh Adhikari said they had adjusted civil servants under the parliamentary service in line with the data sent by the Parliament Secretariat.
However, Parliament Secretariat Spokesperson Roj Nath Pandey told THT that they had no role in the adjustment of the five officials. “The ministry finalised adjustment of the five officials,” he said, adding that if a mistake had been done, the affected civil servants could file their complaints.
According to a source at the Parliament Secretariat, the PS management committee had deliberately included the five names. The governments has adjusted 1,00,031 employees in all three tiers of governments.
Data shows that more civil servants were adjusted under the central government. A total of 84,409 posts were created under central government, 22,297 posts under the provincial governments and 66,908 posts under the 753 local levels. This means that 35 per cent posts were created for the centre, 16 per cent posts for the provinces and 49 per cent for the local levels.
However, 40,409 employees were adjusted in centre, 14,659 employees were adjusted in the seven provinces and 31,043 employees were adjusted in the local levels. This shows that provincial governments and local levels did not get the required number of employees.
