KATHMANDU, MARCH 20

The parliamentary party and central committee meetings of CPN-UML are to take place today.

UML's parliamentary party meeting is being held at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar, according to UML Office Secretary Ishwari Rijal.

Likewise, the 12th central committee meeting of the party will be held after the parliamentary party meeting. Both the meetings are likely to discuss on contemporary political issues as well as about differences within the party.

The parliamentary party meeting today is expected to amend the statue of the parliamentary party. The taskforce formed to amend the statute will present its report today. UML's parliamentary party meeting on March 18 had formed a three-member statute amendment task force led by Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai.

Likewise, the central committee is expected to form the General Convention Organising Committee, Secretary Rijal said. CPN-UML's 10th general convention has been scheduled for November later this year.
