Pashupati Shumsher Rana calls central committee meeting to 're-claim leadership'

KATHMANDU: A day after Lokendra Bahadur Chand claimed chairmanship of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Pashupati Shumsher Rana, the incumbent party chairman, has called a meeting of the party's central committee for Wednesday.

Rana has been claiming that he is authentic chairman and Chand's decision was against the party statute.

A press release issued by the party spokesperson Thakur Prasad Sharma informed that the meeting shall take place at 9 am on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, speaking at an interaction in Bhaktapur today, Rana dubbed the latest move of Chand and his supporters as a 'drama'.

According to him, leaders Chand and Prakash Chandra Lohani were not associated with the party for last one and half years. The duo orchestrated this drama, Rana charged, saying that action would be taken against them from the central committee.
