Paudel confident of Koirala's support for NC reins
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Vice-President Ram Chandra Paudel reiterated that he would run for the party presidency, that too with the support of incumbent President Sushil Koirala, in the upcoming 13th national general convention.
"My candidacy is the need of the party," he said, "The present President Sushil Koirala will support it."
Speaking to a delegation from the Reporters' Club in the Capital today, Paudel said, "Friends across the nation expect (the leadership role) from me. They have said that I need to become the President to make the party lively."
Meanwhile, Paudel said his party should lead the national political course to give the nation a way-out.
"Other parties cannot lead the nation to a right place," he claimed.
The Congress leader, however, maintained that the party was not in favour of topping the government immediately.
"I am not in favour of criticising the government," he said, "We are watching and warning the government."
