KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Paudel congratulated Sher Bahadur Deuba on his election as the party president.

Extending his heartily congratulations, Paudel expressed his best wishes to Deuba for a successful tenure, read a statement issued on Tuesday.

Paudel also urged Deuba to work honestly for the people and country keeping party's ideology and policy in mind.

Paudel thanked all who supported him in the election.

He also thanked all party cadres and those people, who helped conclude the convention, urging all to move ahead with politics based on principle, the statement read.

Deuba had defeated Paudel in the runoff election held on Monday as part of the party's 13th general convention and was elected president of the NC.
