Pause constitution writing process: NBA
KATHMANDU: Nepal Bar Association on Thursday urged the three major parties to put on hold the constitution writing process and asked the agitating parties to withdraw their protests and hold talks to resolve disputes. Issuing a statement, the umbrella organisation of private lawyers said putting the CA process on hold for some time does not meanĀ putting an an end to the constitution drafting process. Saying the recent violence against proposed boundaries of federal states has drawn its attention, NBA also condemned the violent tactics used by agitating parties to press the government to fulfill their demands and excessive use of force by security personnel against the agitators. It also cautioned that the ongoing violence might lead the country to another cycle of conflict.
