Peace bid on talks table

Kathmandu, October 24:

The ambassadors of the permanent five members of the United Nations Security Council to Nepal met here today to

discuss progress on Nepal’s peace process.

Ian Martin, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative to Nepal, briefed the envoys on recent political developments and the activities of UNMIN in support of the peace process.

The ambassadors called on the parties to agree on the issue of removing PLA combatants, disqualified during the verification process, from cantonments, the British Embassy said in a release.
