KATHMANDU: A person died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in Balkumari of Lalitpur district on Tuesday night, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Sushma Lama (32) of Kathar Rural Municipality-1 in Chitwan district, currently residing in Kandaghari of Kathmandu district.

According to police, Lama was walking alongside the road in Balkumari when she was hit by a Nissan vehicle, the number of which has not been identified yet, at 11:00 pm yesterday, injuring her.

The injured was rushed to KIST Medical College, Imadol, where she breathed her last during the course of treatment, informed police.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway and search is on for the absconding vehicle and its driver, said police.
