KATHMANDU: A woman died when a tipper hit her in Chabahil of Kathmandu, on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Kala Bhattarai Chhetri (33) of Jhapa, police said.

According to police, the tipper (Ba 4 Kha 4926) hit her while she was crossing the road, killing her on the spot at around 10:30 am today.

Meanwhile, traffic was obstructed following the incident. It, however, resumed after an hour, police informed.

According to an eyewitness, passersby had pelted stones at the driver after the incident

Police have impounded the vehicle and are searching for the absconding driver.
