PHSC hearing for justices postponed

KATHMANDU: Parliamentary hearing for the 11 justices recommended for the Supreme Court has been put off until further notice.

The Public Hearing Special Committee of the Parliament was supposed to conduct hearing on the nomination of the justices at its office in Singh Durbar on Sunday morning.

PHSC member and Nepali Congress Chief Whip Chin Kaji Shrestha said she was informed by the House panel that the hearing was postponed due to illness of its Chairman Kul Bahadur Gurung.

“I was told that Chairman Gurung was suffering from chest pain and doctors have advised him to take rest for a few days,” Shrestha told THT.

“The hearing will be conducted once he recovers.”
