KATHMANDU: A person died and another sustained minor injuries when the motorcycle they were riding on was hit by a passenger bus in Tripureshwor in Kathmandu on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Bibek Baraili (25) of Simli VDC in Dhading, currently residing in Gurujudhara in Kathmandu, while the injured motorcyclist is yet to be identified.

Baraili was riding pillion on the two-wheeler.

According to SP Lokendra Bahadur Malla, the accident occurred when the motorcycle (Ba 73 Pa 4309) heading towards Teku collided with a Dakshinkali Yatayat passenger bus (Ba 3 Kha 4045) heading towards Purano Bus Park from Dakshinkali at Tripureshwor Chok in Kathmandu this afternoon.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the bus and detained its driver for investigation, said SP Malla.
