PM claims cordial inter-party ties

Kathmandu, October 27:

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said today that the political development over the past two weeks has developed “warm relations” among the parties.

The Prime Minister made this remark at a tea party organised by the Sadbhavana Party today on the occasion of Tihar, Chhath and Idul Zoha or Baqr-Id.

PM Prachanda, NC president Girija Prasad Koirala, chairman of Rastriya Janashakti Party Surya Bahadur Thapa, among others, attended the function hosted by Sadbhavana Party chief and Minister for Commerce and Supplies Rajendra Mahato.

Asked if they (the parties) would be able to form a special committee on army integration, the Prime Minister said he was optimistic.

Former PM Koirala, however, said the committee should be formed in such a way that the integration issue can be settled once and for all.

“It may take time when you initiate something with good motive. We are still discussing it. It is a very serious issue. Let it be late. If the issue is addressed properly, extraneous factors will not create any problem,” Koirala said.
