KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 3
CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has briefed the party about his recent visit to the United States of America to attend the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly and his subsequent official visit to China.
During a meeting of the party's office-bearers today, Dahal mentioned that Nepal's participation in the UNGA had helped promote Nepal's global identity, saying, "Through Nepal's participation in the UN mega event, the world community could learn more about Nepal."
Regarding his visit to Nepal's northern neighbor, the Prime Minister emphasized that the bilateral agreements and understandings reached during the visit were of long-term significance for Nepal's development, as reported by party Vice Chairperson and Spokesperson, Agni Prasad Sapkota. He stated, "The meetings with the UN Secretary-General and other engagements on the sidelines of the event were important."
The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of agreements such as the cooperation between the National Planning Commission and China's National Development and Reform Commission, focusing on the development of cross-border transmission lines and collaboration in agriculture and science technology.
Furthermore, the meeting instructed party leaders and cadres to actively contribute to the success of the 'transformation campaign' initiated by the party since September 2.
Prime Minister Dahal of Nepal embarked on his journey on September 16, departing for the United Nations headquarters in New York and subsequently proceeding to China from there on September 23. He returned home on September 30.
