KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 4
The government has granted permission to the Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security to sign bilateral labor agreements with European countries-Germany and Romania.
A Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday made the decision and appointed a delegation led by Labor Minister Saratsingh Bhandari to participate in the program, as announced by the government's spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma.
Similarly, the government has also allowed bilateral talks on air service agreements between Nepal and Switzerland, as well as Nepal and Rwanda. It has also decided to establish a bilateral consultation mechanism between the foreign affairs ministries of Nepal and Malaysia.
During the Cabinet meeting, permission was granted to a delegation led by Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat to participate in the high-level investment summit to be held at Mansion House in London. The National Sports Talent Award Work Procedure, 2068, was scrapped, and the Special Court Regulations, 2080, were approved.
Additionally, the government has permitted the introduction of a bill aimed at arranging matters concerning Martyr Dasharath Chand University of Health Sciences and another bill related to the management and regulation of construction materials.
Furthermore, the meeting decided to restructure the organizational structure and positions at the District Coordination Committee. It was also decided to approve a total of 172 temporary officer-level positions under the Ministry of Health and Population.
Likewise, in accordance with the Cabinet's decision, Deputy Attorney General of the public prosecutor group, gazette first class, Lokraj Parajuli, has been promoted and assigned to the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons. The Judicial Service Commission had recommended Parajuli for this position, as mentioned by Minister Sharma.
The meeting also decided to accept a concessional loan exceeding Rs 13 billion (based on the foreign currency exchange rate on Wednesday) and grant assistance amounting to USD 3.84 million from the World Bank for the implementation of quality health services in Nepal.
Furthermore, the meeting approved grant assistance worth Swiss Franc 5.45 million pledged by the government of Switzerland for the implementation of innovation-related projects in Nepal.
