KATHMANDU, AUGUST 6
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended an official invitation to the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedow, to visit Nepal.
The invitation was made during a meeting held between the two leaders today on the sidelines of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC) in Awaza. Prime Minister Oli proposed that President Berdimuhamedow consider visiting Nepal in the coming year.
Speaking briefly to the media following the meeting, Prime Minister Oli stated that the discussions encompassed matters of mutual interest, including bilateral cooperation, collaboration, and the further strengthening of ties between the two nations.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli commended the remarkable development Turkmenistan has achieved within a relatively short span of time. He also highlighted Nepal's upcoming graduation to the status of a developing country by 2026.
Additionally, Prime Minister Oli expressed his gratitude to President Berdimuhamedow for the excellent hosting of the LLDC conference in Awaza.
Later today, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold meetings with other heads of state and government attending the conference.
