PM Oli sets foot in Baluwatar sans rituals

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli shifted to the Prime Minister's official residence Baluwatar from his private residence at Balkot, Bhaktapur on Friday late evening.

CPN-UML cadres and supporters of Kathmandu constituency no. 5 had gathered at Baluwatar to welcome the Prime Minister there. Also present on the occasion were Party Vice-Chairpersons Bidya Devi Bhandari, General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel , Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Poudel and standing committee member Shanker Pokhrel.

Upon his arrival, a contingent of Nepal Army offered a guard of honour to the Prime Minister.

No customary rituals were performed on the occasion of the entry of the new prime minister to Baluwatar, said his press advisor Pramod Dahal.

The CPN-UML chairman, Oli, was on October 11 elected as the new Prime Minister of Nepal.
