KATHMANDU, MAY 2
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called a meeting of the Council of Ministers at his official residence in Baluwatar, today. The meeting will commence at 4:00pm.
The meeting will discuss mechanism to control and prevent further spread of ongoing second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
As per sources, the Covid-19 Crisis Management Centre's recommendation in this regard will be tabled for the Council's discussion.
The CCMC on Friday had recommended to further tighten the ongoing prohibitory orders across the various districts that are most affected by the pandemic.
It had decided to regulate and reduce the number of employees of essential service providing organisations while also further restricting movement of vehicles by downsizing allocation of permits for the same.
The cabinet is expected to take some decisions along these recommendations in view of the steep upward surge in intraday cases, and at a time when the Health Ministry itself has sent a message across to people regarding unavailability of beds for treatment at hospitals.
