PM Oli to expand Cabinet on Sunday
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is likely to expand his cabinet on Sunday.
According to Secretary of the CPN-UML Secretariat, Krishna Gopal Shrestha, the party's chairman Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will expand the Cabinet incorporating new ministers from his party and other parties to maintain a balance from the ethnic and geographical perspective.
Shrestha said that the UML would assume responsibilities of the Ministries of Defence, Finance, Federal Affairs and Local Development, Health, Urban Development and Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
Different works including Cabinet expansion, giving full shape to different commissions and committees including National Planning Commission and political appointments would be forwarded as well, he added.
Shrestha also said that there would be no appointment in the vacant post of lawmakers as per the provision of the new constitution.
"There will also be no appointment to the vacant post of Vice-Chairperson of the party for the time being. A meeting of national council should be held for the same. Somebody will get charge of acting Chairperson of the All Nepal Women's Association", he said.
