PM to consult experts before embarking on India visit

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that he would consult experts about issues of national interest before embarking on the proposed India visit next month.

Responding to a delegation representing the National Concern Campaign Nepal at the PM's official residence in Kathamandu on Monday, PM Dahal said that he would consider experts' technical suggestions on issues of national importance before holding bilateral talks with the Indian government.

During the meeting, Dahal also made clear that he would not give Kathmandu-Nijgadh fast track project to any foreign company.

"It is our responsibility to implement the Constitution, we should strengthen national unity," Dahal said, adding, "For this, we should coordinate with all the power centres, but the government under my premiership will not sign any deal against the national interests" he added.

The delegation has drawn attention of PM Dahal to carry on big national development projects with domestic investment.

The delegation included scholars Dipendra Bahadur Chhetri, Gopal Siwakoti Chintan, Dwarika Nath Dhungel, Bharat Bahadur Shahi and Mangal Bishwakarma among others.
