PM to be sworn in today

KATHMANDU: The Office of President is scheduled to hold the ceremony to swear-in newly-elected prime minister at 1:00pm on Monday after Speaker Subas Chandra Nembang formally informed President Ram Baran Yadav about the election result, according to Nembang.

The Speaker expressed said the voting was the first historic implementation of the new constitution in the presence of all parties representing the parliament, including the agitating ones.

“The presence of agitating parties in the process has shown their acceptance of the new constitution,” Nembang said.

Meanwhile, UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s China visit has been cancelled and instead of Dahal party’s Vice-chairperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha would visit China to participate in a function, Gajurel said.
