PM urges disgruntled parties to come for talks

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli urged the dissident parties to sit for talks to find an amicable solution to the existing political problems.

The Prime Minister was speaking a programme organised at Tundikhel of Kathmandu on the occasion of 66th Democracy Day on Friday.

Prime Minister Oli, who is also the Chairman of CPN-UML, also urged all people to be united to fulfill the dreams of martyrs and establish democracy in the country.

Stating that the reconstruction works after the massive twin earthquakes of April and May have been delayed, the head of the government said that the task would be intensified at the earliest.

Prime Minister Oli also paid tribute to known and unknown martyrs who sacrificed their life for the democracy.

He went on to say that the constitution which was promulgated for the first time from people’s elected Constituent Assembly was the result of political movements waged by the people since 1950.

Moreover, PM Oli said that the constitution has provided people with equal rights in politics, economy, and social and cultural realms, apart from ensuring their social justice.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Speaker Onsari Gharti, Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha and ministers among others were present on the occasion.
