PM urges Left forces to turn a new leaf
Kathmandu, December 12:
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today stressed the need to transform Nepal’s communist parties to safeguard political achievements attained so far.
He also said the achievements would not be safeguarded if the parties did not practice internal democracy.
Addressing a programme organised by Progressive Writers’ Association here today, PM Dahal requested progressive writers to organise nationwide dialogues to ensure that the communist parties practiced internal democracy.
“Nepal’s communist parties have more than 60 percent strength at the Constituent Assembly. We can continue the revolution for people’s power through the present government if the communist parties practiced internal democracy,” he added. He also said that the people would have to raise arms again if the seized arms were handed over to feudal forces. “Peace can be established only when the arms go to those who really serve people,” he said.
He also highlighted the need for a nationwide campaign to write people’s constitution and achieve peace and prosperity in the country.
