Police arrest serial burglars

Police have busted a two-member gang who allegedly executed spate of burglaries in Kathmandu Valley.

The theft suspects are Abhishek Moktan, 17, and Sanu Blon, 20, of Bagmati-3, Makwanpur. According to Metropolitan Police Crime Division, the duo had raided at least four electronic shops and made off with cash and valuables worth around Rs 3.5 million over a period of two months.

Police have also confiscated Rs 70,000 and 17 mobile phone sets from them. Moktan and Blon broke into the Bouddha-based S Electronic Shop of Bharat Chaulagain and made off with mobile phones and laptop computers worth Rs 2.7 million on October 14.

Similarly, 84 mobile phone sets and two laptop computers were burgled from the mobile shop of Ram Purkoti in Godavari, Lalitpur, on September 22.

The other electronic shops targeted by them are Imadol-based New Raj Digital Home and the mobile store of Kumar Nepali in Bhagwatisthan, Kathmandu-9.

MPCD informed that Gopal Rai, 33, of Dhankuta was also arrested for buying stolen goods from Moktan and Blon.
