Police bust robbers’ gang

Kathmandu, March 13:
The crime investigation branch of the Valley Police has arrested 13 persons on charges of robbery. “Yesterday, we arrested 13 members of a gang responsible for 21 cases of robbery and looting cash amounting to Rs 140,000 in the Valley,” Binod Singh, SSP at the branch, told reporters. Singh said three others of the gang are still at large. The police arrested Bir Bahadur Tamang, 21 from his residence Thankot-1, Kathmandu, while Ram Bahadur Tamang, 24, Laxman Tamang, 24, Subash Tamang, 19, Bir Bahadur Tamang, 16, and Basanta Lama, were arrested from Naikap-9, Kathmandu. They hail from Naubise-7, Dhading district. Binod Shanker BK, 22, was nabbed in Kirtipur municipality-2 while Akkal Bahadur Tamang, 34, Man Bahadur Tamang, 24, Arjun Tamang and Shambhu Tamang were arrested from Kalanki Chowk, Kathmandu. The last four hail from Naubise-2, Dhading. Police said Bhakta Bahadur Tamang, Karna Bahadur Tamang and Urgen Tamang of Naubise-7, Dhading, are still at large.
