KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 12

Police today opened fire on a group of robbers in Kathmandu, hurting one and arresting three thugs who were on a mission to loot people.

Acting upon a tip-off, police started to follow some suspicious persons travelling in motorbikes in the Jagdol area of Gokarneswor Municipality in Kathmandu.

Police personnel from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office said, "As they started getting closer to the suspicious person, they acted weirdly and tried to run away.

However, police continued to chase when the person on motorbike tried to run away from police personnel."

Police also said they brandished a gun. However, no shot was fired from the accused side. Police shot two rounds of fire to take them under control.

Eventually all the three persons were arrested while one suffered injuries as per a police source.
