Poudel asks Maoists to give up arms

Kathmandu:

Nepali Congress (NC) general secretary Ram Chandra Poudel on Sunday said his party would not go for the election to a constituent assembly with the agenda of perpetuating the monarchy. He, however, asked the Maoists to surrender their arms as all their demands have been fulfilled.

“The Maoists should lay down arms across the country before going for a constituent assembly,” said Poudel.

He said that the two armies actually would not remain under the same command as the Maoist army is loyal to one ideology.
