KATHMANDU: President of Nepali Congress Girija Prasad Koirala on Tuesday expressed confidence to the outgoing US envoy Nancy J Powell that his party would bring the Maoists into the national government. Powell, who made a farewell call to Koirala, is learnt to have expressed concerns about the peace process and the political scenario in Nepal. Dr Suresh Chalise, Koirala’s foreign affairs advisor, said that Koirala had shared with her the plan of forming a high level mechanism for confidence building among major political parties.
