‘Preparations for SLC exams almost over’

The Office of the Controller of the Examinations today said preparations for the upcoming School Leaving Certificate examinations were almost over. This year’s SLC examinations is scheduled to begin from March 31.
According to Krishna Prasad Kapri, examination controller at the OCE, the office has completed printing of question papers. “We have already completed printing of question papers.
We are currently dispatching the same to various districts across the country,” he said. He also informed that the OCE was yet to dispatch question papers to eight districts of Bagmati Zone, and Dolakha and Ramechhap districts in Janakpur Zone.
“We will dispatch question papers to the remaining districts soon,” he said, adding, “Our priority was to first dispatch question papers to districts which are far from Janak Education Material Centre.”
A total of 615,385 examinees will appear in the SLC examinations with a total of 1,943 examination centres set up for the purpose, he informed.
Kapri added that Kathmandu district has the highest number of examinees, while mountainous districts, including Manang and Mustang, have the lowest number of examinees as previous years.
He also stated that the appointment of exam superintendent, invigilators, security personnel and other necessary staff was yet to be done.
“The district examination coordination committees led by chief district officer will appoint superintendents and invigilators in their respective districts,” he added.
OCE is also preparing to provide students’ memo, including their names, date of birth, subjects, names of schools, examination centres and others, to avoid errors during result publication.
The memo will be provided to students on the last day of their exam.
