President at Pashupatinath on Mahashivaratri

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari visited the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu on Monday evening on the occasion of Mahashivaratri festival.

As per the ritual, the Head of the State makes a visit to this holy shrine of Lord Shiva every year on the day of Shivaratri. The Temple which is also enlisted in the World Heritage Site is considered one of the holiest shrines of Lord Shiva in the world.

On the occasion, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Ananda Prasad Pokharel also visited the Temple.

Speaking to the mediapersons following his visit, Minister Pokharel said that the Temple was symbol of faith not only amongst the Hindus, but also for the entire humankind.

Pokharel was also quick to add that the government was committed towards keeping up the faith of public towards the Pashupatinath Temple. He also urged for cooperation from local public for the same.
