President Ramchandra Paudel viewed the Shree Krishna Janmastami inspires us to involve in good deeds by fostering religious tolerance and goodwill.
In his message of greetings on the occasion of Shree Krishna Janmastami today, President Paudel wished this festival encouraged Nepalis to build a civilized and well-cultured society by nurturing the spirit of mutual harmony, compassion and friendliness.
The Head of the State highlighted the significance of the festival on which the Hindus across the world today celebrate this day with great devotion, as Lord Krishna, pioneer of Bhaktiyoga, Gyanyoga and Karmayoga, is believed to be born on this day. Lord Krishna was born to Basudev and Devaki as their eight offspring at the midnight of Bhadra Shukla Astami of Vedic Dwapar era.
Meanwhile, President Paudel said the Gaura festival, celebrated especially in the far west of the Nepal, has played a significant role in strengthening cultural and religious harmony.
On this day, fasting is observed by worshipping the Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
The Head of the State wished the Day inspired all to devote to build further harmony in family, society and country. He also wished peace and prosperity to all Nepalis on this occasion.
